Book Review

Frankie Fish and The Sonic Suitcase
by Peter Helliar

by Dani Solomon, Feb 2017

Frankie Fish is forced to spend the holidays with his grandparents as punishment for a prank gone wrong. Nanna Fish is quite nice but Grandad Fish, a sour man with a hook for a hand, is the meanest man in the world. After a trip to Grandad’s forbidden shed goes wrong and Grandad Fish turns up with a hand where his hook should be, Frankie gets suspicious. Now Grandad and Frankie have to travel back in time to stop Frankie’s family disappearing forever.

The problem is Grandad Fish has virtually no experience in time travel! Neither has Frankie, but Frankie has watched enough Doctor Who to know better than to meddle with the past. Frankie Fish and the Sonic Suitcase is like a fun mini-episode of Doctor Who if the grumpy old man in Doctor Who was the companion instead of the Time Lord and the young kid unwillingly dragged along in the adventure was the smart one!
