Richard Flanagan
Richard Flanagan has been described by the Washington Post as 'one of our greatest living novelists' and as 'among the most versatile writers in the English language' by the New York Review of Books. Born in Tasmania in 1961 Flanagan's novels Death of a River Guide, The Sound of One Hand Clapping, Gould’s Book of Fish, The Unknown Terrorist, Wanting and The Narrow Road to the Deep North have received numerous honours and are published in 42 countries. He won the Man Booker Prize for The Narrow Road to the Deep North in 2014 and the Commonwealth Prize for Gould's Book of Fish. His most recent book is Question 7, which won the Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction 2024.
