Mil has been raised by the Purists his whole life, but everything changes when he is given what should be his easiest test yet: bring back the head of a so-called "plague."

On the other side of the continent, Princess Ariel is eager to impress her father as the heir of her country. But everything changes when a moving statue and unwanted voices come into her life.

Every day, the Purists claim more and more land, and more plagues die. Yet, it's becoming increasingly clear that the Purists have greater goals in mind than simple conquest. Greater forces are rising in the land, eager to sink their teeth into the unfortunate souls that cross their path.

They could be the key to defeating the Purists once and for all-or awaken an evil worse than any Purist.
