From the Wreckage

The Atalanta is a legend. The resistance is a grim reality. When legend comes to life, it might just change the world. The Atalanta was an airship like no other. More than fifty years ago, she was piloted to her doom by Captain Leander Lockwell. Every child in the archipelago of the Greater Island Area dreamed of being the one to find her wreckage and the rumored treasure she carried. Many tried and failed. Some died in the pursuit, giving way to the idiom "You could sooner raise the Atalanta than-"

But doing the impossible is old hat for Anne Marie Blaire, her brother Skip, and their friends who grew up in the Resistance movement. Holed up in the Cove, a decaying resort community outside the city of Freeport, their world is turned upside down when the authoritarian governor sends his airship Hephaestus to bomb them. With both her parents dead, Anne Marie must find a way to keep the Resistance from falling apart.

In the midst of the bombing, Derick Cassidy is kidnapped from the Cove by his opportunistic uncle and blackmailed into diving for treasure-and instead he discovers a mysterious, glowing blue element. While held captive, Derick also meets Danae, a young woman whose true identity is as big a secret as his own. Will they be able to set each other free when the truth lies tangled between them?

Against turbulent seas, across stormy skies, and among war-torn islands rife with a history of piracy and conflict, can a ragtag group of freedom fighters come together to turn the wreckage of their lives into treasure?
