In the voodoo waters of the Bermuda Triangle lies Lumiere, a secret isle where immortals have lived peacefully for centuries. But trouble begins for Rose Grey when pirates discover Lumiere and decide to hunt its magical inhabitants. In a secret den on the isle called The Shallows, Rose Grey, the youngest of four nymph sisters, lives with Reeva, an obsessed bibliophile; Zoe, the queen of bad decisions; and Chloe, a self-proclaimed goddess with an ego the size of Lumiere itself. Unfortunately, Rose is born with a curse-- of no magical powers, and her powerful sisters have no idea how to break this dark enchantment, so they hire every sorcerer they can find to assist. However, after six disastrous (and expensive) failures, they give up.
Rose refuses to accept her fate and sets out to find treasures to trade for a sorcerer's help. On her quest, she teams up with Natts, a dubious but oddly charming elf with a knack for trouble. However things take a turn for the worse when Natts is tricked into creating a map to the nymphs' secret lair. Now Rose and Natts must destroy the map before it falls into the hands of paranoid pirates, a mischievous cigar-smoking monkey, or a power-hungry sorceress.
With pirates closing in, alliances shifting, and chaos brewing, will Rose survive to learn her true destiny?
