Who writes blind items about authors anyways?

That's Taylor Mullins' first thought when her relaxing trip to Mexico is interrupted by the news that a blind item about her has made its way into the blogosphere. As the latest hot author on the scene, with a TV deal for her book series on the horizon, it's no shock that celebrity gossip has taken an interest in her. She just never imagined that the item in question would imply that she's sleeping with her hot British assistant, Dean Coffey.

Of course, that's exactly what they're doing.

Dean and Taylor have a comfy friends with benefits situation going on. Both of them know the risks involved and what might happen to her career if they're caught, but that hasn't stopped them from spending many nights tangled under the covers after Dean clocks out for the day at 5 PM. To try and salvage both of their reputations, Taylor devises a plan to fabricate a relationship with wealthy socialite Alex Campano, who just happens to be staying at the same resort. Now she just needs the paparazzi to snap some staged candids and she'll be golden.

So why is it that Dean seems to hate her plan - and Alex - with a passion?

And why she does she feel so guilty about it all?
