The author was surprised by the similarity of the stories from the various age groups and neighborhoods. Terri L. Bailey felt a book sharing the stories of those who came of age in the bosom of Black neighborhoods in her Florida city was a great idea. This project reminds us of the importance of paying homage to one's lineage and upbringing.
