The war and hatred between the Fae and the humans cost both sides everything. When the great war ended, the Fae were believed extinct, but their offspring lived on. Born to human and fae parents, the new generation inherited a bastardization of magic-necromancy. Capable of raising the dead and marked by unnatural eyes, necromancers sowed chaos across the land. Lysandra grew up in the Order, an organization created to put an end to the necromantic threat. She has trained since birth to hunt and kill necromancers and is determined to punish them for what they took from her.

Talia grew up on the road, living wherever her mother dragged her until the day she accidentally resurrected her dead cat. With an undead companion by her side, Talia is forced to confront her new abilities and hidden past.

When Lysandra's sent to investigate rumors of a necromancer hiding in a small town, she finds Talia, unlike any necromancer she's ever met before. Together, Lysandra and Talia must cooperate to prevent another war that could be even more devastating than the first. Fleeing enemies all around, they will discover what it means to be human, and what it means to love.
