Gleanna Gilkenning wants nothing more than to become a performer in a traveling faire and escape the mundane future that lies ahead of her in the backward village of Gandalvane where she grew up. Her prayers to escape such a future are answered-but not as she envisioned. Her "gift" for farseeing (both physical and mental) begins to develop into other talents after a visit from a feisty bird twice her size. The bird is a mystery, but hints at a future of danger, intrigue, and service to the Goddess Andari. Not exactly what she asked for. Her pathway begins to diverge in ways she never could have imagined after she's kidnapped by barbarians. The path before her, muddied by complications of the heart, leads her into dangers and excitement. Which pathway should she choose? Gleanna-with a great deal of interference from the Goddess Andari-discovers things about herself she never knew. And now, her journey becomes more clouded and perilous than ever. What in the name of the Goddess can she do?
