What do an embittered newspaper journalist and a hunky bodybuilder have in common? Nothing. Or at least that's what JESSE NOYER thinks as she takes an assignment to cover a local bodybuilding competition.

While interviewing one of the contestants, Jesse is surprised and intrigued when, expecting mono-syllabic responses to probing questions, RANDY NEWKIRK counters with intelligence and humor. In a follow-up interview over lunch, Jesse is shocked to discover that Randy is a Christian and praying is as natural to him as breathing. Bible-thumpers irritate her, and she struggles with the unwelcome attraction she feels for Randy in spite of his obvious faith flaw.

Jesse's article and photos on bodybuilding, and the public interest generated, results in her story becoming a series on fitness. At the same time, the family involved in her article on Batten Disease, a child-killing illness, captures her heart. As she faces career challenges, Jesse also struggles with single parenting her son JOSH and facing her own dysfunctional and emotionally abusive childhood. Since Randy came into her life, faith and forgiveness are now questions begging to be answered.
