The Ghost of the Jangling Keys

Ten-year-old Charles Dayton Stratton Ill, a young writer, was sent from

his third-story room overlooking the crashing Atlantic Ocean to a boy's

school in France. At the first sight of the Chateau du Mont, surrounded

by an ancient stone wall, topped with rolls of barbed-wire, Charles makes

plans to escape.

However, his plans are delayed due to: Madam Constance, a possible spy,

an old tree, a black cat, an unwanted roommate, a mathematical genius, a

silver box, a Bedouin prince, the gift of a pyramid, a used camera, a journal

from the French Revolution, the labyrinth at Chartres, Christmas in Paris,

from Ghost Story Magazine.
