Brave Inez is a book about every child's fear of the dark. It is also a tribute to Arlette's deceased mother whom she considers to be her hero for the bravery she showed in her life whose name was Inez. Children have big imaginations, and when they hear noises and bumps in the dark, their mind wanders thinking about what could be around them or coming at them in the dark. The book shows how Inez faces her fear of the dark and shows how she overcomes it in the end.
