Zoey Chandler has spent the last year quaking in her boots, scared of her own shadow... and the male population in general.

So when Deputy Chase Manning, her brother's best friend, moves back to their small hometown after years in a metropolitan police department, she is both wary and intrigued when she realizes he shares traumas as deeply scarring as her own.
