On a distant planet circling an ancient yellow star, a civilization came to an end as fire and stone rained from the heavens. The gods rage was laid at the feet of a once great human race. As the few survivors made their slow, agonizing climb back from utter destruction, a relearning of things long forgotten came to be. Making bricks, melting copper, forging bronze, and gathering men and women into villages, towns and cities commenced.

With civilization came the ever-present urge to war. Glistening blades of bronze, long savage spears, and the ruin of mankind on the march trampled those in its way. And the copper men, beings of metal and glowing eyes, snatched up infants and made them into acolytes of their accursed faith by painful means.

Though priests are few, there are some who learned the truth of the copper men. Within damp caves and ancient citadels one of these priests brought the light from the dark. Wielding the immense power of those who built glittering cities of steel and glass, he sets in motion the freedom of his people.
