The Awakening is a story about the life of Travis Jerome Montgomery Wilson, also known as Trapper, a young African American man who lived in the small town of Grand Bayou in the north of Louisiana. His experiences as a man, including his time, spent serving in the United States Army and his private life in Europe and Asia. He is accompanied by his four military buddies, Razor, Hottard, Jolivette, and Rossi, who support him and each other along the way. This book reveals their sexual misdeeds and exploits through war, personal loss, mishaps, misdemeanor, and possibly their questionable, alleged international criminal behavior, in addition to helping them become the men they were meant to be.
