The first in a series of delightful journal entries and short stories by Jenny Habledean Pritcher. The writings encompass her life as a twelve year old girl in the latter half of 1860's, recorded from her manor home, Mariglenn, in the Allegheny highlands of Virginia, and from her travels to England and Scotland. Return to Mariglenn describes events taking place soon after the American Civil War and what Jenny knows of her father's death at the battle of Gettysburg. She chronicles her journey to England, and a colorful recounting of the people she meets along the way as she accompanies her grandfather on his quest to locate his lost son.
