Will to Freedom

When Richard Holmes dares to read the Bible all the way through, he comes away convinced that its essence is found in the simple phrase, "Love your enemies." This knowledge leads him into a series of visions which carry him out of his physical body into an unimagined dimension of Pure Love. But when he tries to share with others what he has seen, he is greeted with disdain and ridicule. So begins an odyssey deep into ancient Greek manuscripts, leading to a revelation that John 1:6, a passage central to the identity of Jesus, may have been poorly translated. His quest for a new understanding of the gospels will change the world. In choosing the second place these few may find they have entered through the narrow gate and gained the first. Does not scripture say the last (the least able among us) shall be the first to find the way to true freedom?"

Holmes' new understanding of Jesus as way-shower, counter-intuitively, does not decrease who Jesus is, but rather manifests his full power. We now see that just as Jesus claimed his full divinity as a flesh and blood human being walking this earth, we too have the same power. It's not an easy journey but it is a simple one if we surrender to it.
