Accidents. Lots of tragic, horrific, and deadly accidents are plaguing the tiny watermen's town of Rock Narrows. The close-knit community soldiers on with typical Eastern Shore stoicism, never once suspecting a killer is on the loose. True-crime writer Sydney struggles with the relentless demands of new motherhood. She's antsy to get back to work and feel like her pre-baby self. When Sydney's longtime rival Deena publicly insults her, and Tierney-a leggy blonde with a mysterious agenda-arrives for the summer, Rock Narrows heats up in more ways than one. Unfortunately, Sydney's husband Jake is a sucker for a pretty blonde. Tierney easily insinuates herself into Jake's life, but not for sex. In fact, sex is the furthest thought from her mind.

Deena's anxiety flares, and so do her suspicions. To her, the accidents look anything but accidental. She tries to enlist the help of Sydney's sister-in-law Maggie to ferret out the truth.

Maggie, an unconventional and tough-as-nails crabber, has her own issues. After years of being a punching bag, she's learning to make her happiness a priority. But a promising new relationship is jeopardized by the surfacing of a long-buried trauma.

Only when Deena uncovers damning evidence does the danger looming over the people of Rock Narrows become clear. Terrified she's the next target, Deena races to stop the murderer before it's too late.
