The Last Good Light

The luminous world of the Mississippi Gulf Coast of the 1960's was here waiting for me, and I had come a long way to find it. Slow, slate blue waves lined a white beach shrouded in the dripping moss of mammoth oaks that had been here for an eternity, exactly like a vintage postcard. In the southern, salt winds of this glittering world, my coming of age story, my life, really began.
