When elementary school principal Charlie Dickens must eliminate the Christmas pageant or lose his new job, he struggles with his daughter who just won the lead, the director-his childhood sweetheart, and a magical reindeer he saw as a boy.
???As a boy, Charlie stopped believing in holiday magic when his father left the family on Thanksgiving, forcing his mother to move the two of them away from Mistletoe, Georgia. Last year, his wife as the keeper of Christmas died just before the holiday, leaving their daughter and him grief-stricken.
Then, he loses his job as middle school principal because he tried to make a difference and took an unpopular stance against the school board.
Moving back to Mistletoe, Georgia taking the only position offered him, he's reunited with childhood sweetheart, Carole. Their matchmaking daughters-Lindy and Rainey-become fast friends.
The school board demands deep cuts, which include eliminating the Christmas pageant and Carole's position, but before he can, he discovers Lindy has won the lead.
As he struggles to keep everyone happy, the reindeer he saw as a boy keeps reappearing making him question if Carole and the girls are right in believing it has magical powers.
