The Snow Queen (Lighthouse Plays)
Andrew Biliter
In a small Nordic city, Kai and Gerda's childhoods are abruptly altered when a piece of cursed glass from a magic mirror infects Kai and leaves him susceptible to the Snow Queen's enticements. Gerda's epic quest to rescue her best friend from the Snow Queen's palace will take her across the Wide World, where she'll encounter witches and snow wolves, talking flowers and animals, man-eating bandits, and a castle made of dreams.
This play preserves the ethereal wonder and dark undertones of Hans Christian Andersen's original tale, while tempering his icy world with warmth, humor, and heart.
