Speak to My Healing is a nonfiction story about a young girl named Angel who experiences a father's abandonment, which ultimately leads to the demise of her relationships with men. Without the proper guidance, love, and affection from her father, Angel becomes lost in the rapture of love where she continues to make the wrong choices of men. Her attraction to dysfunctional relationships is what is known as "trauma bonding"-A form of emotional lust in which two people connect through their traumatic life experiences. Angel's pain was love-the love that she learned and sought from an absent father who had not learned how to provide the love, attention, and affection that she needed from the first man in her life.

Angel becomes a victim of divorced parents, domestic violence, emotional abuse, and rape, but she has also become a hero of her pain. For Angel to move forward, she would have to clean out her own "mental, emotional, and spiritual closet" of all of the hurt and pain that she held over the years. Her ability to forgive and heal those who hurt her comes from her love for God as she obeys Him in her journey of becoming a mental health therapist to help others. Instead of remaining a victim, she turns her trauma into a victory.
