Like The Original Douglas the Rabbit Story, this story is inspired by the beloved bedtime stories my dad told when I was a child. This book takes us back to the previous spring, when Douglas the Rabbit befriends a skunk, a chipmunk, a fox, and more in his search for the cardinals' missing egg. Once again, there's natural beauty, curiosity, risk, connection with others, and returning home at the end of another adventure, safe and sound. The story shows how helpful attitudes can lead to rewarding outcomes and lasting friendships. In that spirit, I am deeply thankful for all my friends, each unique and dear, and the twists and turns that brought our paths together.
