Twenty-one year old Jim Carter was left homeless when a gang of ruthless ex-confederate soldiers burned his home and killed his parents. He took up his guns, left his sweetheart and went after the killers. In a minor bar room flight, a man was killed and Carter was charged with his murder. With lawmen and bounty hunters gunning for him on one side, and murderers on the other side, he falls in love again, gets shot while rescuing her from kidnappers, disappears and is presumed dead.
