Eye of the Storm

Eye of the Storm continues the saga of Dr. Maggie McKinley in the small rural Southern town of Caddo Bend, Arkansas. A strong new love is developing and an old one has returned, but startling new information surfaces that threatens to derail her hopes for a happy future. As her medical practice continues to build, and a few unsavory characters arrive with medical emergencies she must address. A sudden uptick in overdose deaths has occurred and fears increase that a drug syndicate is operating in the county. Then a mysterious plant toxin sickens a local child, the same toxin that appears to have killed a Mexican migrant, and now threatens the life of a prominent Caddo Bend resident. Maggie must keep her wits about her to solve the medical mystery and confront one of her deepest fears head on to save his life.
