Time Calluses

Seeking respite from an unsettled time in his life, the author organizes three intricately planned days filled with excursions, activities, dates, and parties—all of which collapse just as his much-anticipated weekend is about to arrive. Instead of staying home to absorb the bad luck, he accepts an impromptu invitation to an art show opening at a New Orleans gallery for an architect and artist friend. Time Calluses chronicles his 1200 miles and 48 hours in New Orleans, on the road, and time with a woman he has not seen in fourteen years.
