Around the World in Eighty Days is a classic adventure novel by Jules Verne and is one of his most well-known works. As part of his "Extraordinary Voyages" series, it is a pioneering tale of global travel, adventure, and the triumph of human ingenuity.

The story begins in London, where a wealthy and meticulous Englishman, Phileas Fogg, makes a bold wager with his fellow members of the Reform Club. Fogg bets that he can travel around the world in just eighty days, a feat thought impossible at the time. He wagers his entire fortune that he will return to London within the allotted time, or lose it all.

Fogg sets off on his journey, accompanied by his French servant, Passepartout, who initially doubts the feasibility of the challenge. They travel by various modes of transportation-steamships, trains, and even elephants-across countries including France, India, Japan, and the United States.
