The Missing Chums is the fourth book in the Hardy Boys series by Franklin W. Dixon. It's a classic tale of adventure and mystery, with Frank and Joe Hardy once again solving a puzzling case in their hometown of Bayport.
Frank and Joe's close friends, Chet Morton and Biff Hooper, mysteriously disappear after attending a masquerade party. At the same time, the boys learn of a bank robbery that has taken place nearby. The Hardy brothers suspect the two events might be connected and begin an investigation to locate their missing friends.
Their sleuthing leads them to uncover a gang of criminals hiding out on a remote island. Along the way, they face dangerous situations, including a high-speed boat chase, hidden traps, and attempts by the gang to thwart their progress. With their wits, bravery, and the help of their father, the famous detective Fenton Hardy, the boys rescue their friends and bring the criminals to justice.
The book focuses on themes such as friendship, teamwork, and perseverance, all hallmarks of the Hardy Boys series.
