Once We Were Like Wolves

In An Imbalance of Shadows, Julianna freed the ancient god Grandfather Shadow. He marked her as his high priest, forcing her to choose between her birthrights. While Julianna and Faelin flee from their enemies, they encounter Grandfather Shadow's followers for the first time in the small town of Shadybrook. For a time, it seems as if they might finally have found a place of peace and rest, but some of those followers are harboring secrets of their own. Soon, the Brotherhood of the Night and Kingdom Inquisitors descend on Shadybrook. Battles rage, loyalties are tested, and Julianna learns that being the high priest of the god of shadows comes with a higher price than she expected. Julianna must survive long enough to learn what it means to truly be the Lord Morigahn.
