On 23 March 2023, thirty play teams from thirty districts of Odisha and more than four thousand artists staged this play simultaneously in thirty districts. The play Gandhi in Odisha has credited a rare record in its name. It deals with Gandhi's eight-time visit to Odisha and changes in the social sphere afterwards.

The play In Gandhi's Role has been staged in different parts of Odisha over a hundred times over the last twenty years and strongly influences the People. Motivated by the play's success, one producer has shown interest in quickly converting the play into a cinema.
