Gordon began writing about The Atonement of Jesus Christ three to four years ago. To prepare, he studied numerous bibles and conducted extensive research on the Passover.

The book endeavors to navigate the complex interpretations of Christian sects regarding the Atonement. It engages in a scholarly conversation aimed at achieving the proper harmonization of the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Despite claims that these scriptures cannot be harmonized, Gordon seeks to provide a coherent interpretation. The narrative spans twelve days of the Passover and three days in the grave, totaling fifteen days, contrary to the commonly held belief that this span can be consolidated into seven days.
