My husband, Kaviyarasu Na.Kamarasan, a remarkable poet of the past six decades, stands out similar to ancient luminaries such as Wordsworth, Tagore, and Bharathi.

My younger brother, Dr.Sanna Ratnavel had the unique advantage of being raised in the same cultural environment as the esteemed poet, thanks to his mother's role as the poet's school teacher.

Sharing a similar poetic sensibility, he undertook the immense task of translating Kaviyarasu.Kamarasan's works into English. Despite his busy schedule, he dedicated himself to this endeavour, and the result is a book that has been scrutinised and praised by the poet's close associates and literary scholars.

I am deeply grateful to my brother, Dr.Sanna Ratnavel, who is also an alumnus of IIT/New Delhi, for fulfilling the request of my husband, the poet, Kaviyarasu. Kamarasan brings his works from the land of classic Tamil literature to the wider audience of English literature. I extend my heartfelt wishes for his success in all his future endeavours.

I hope readers will find the joy in exploring the English renditions and the cultural connections they offer.
