As the saying goes, "You are getting old when you can remember what happened 40 years ago but cannot remember in the evening what you had for lunch." So I decided to document all the events that I still remember and tried to collect some facts that other members of the family could contribute to my effort to write about the Shambhu family. I am extremely grateful to those who provided all the help collecting the data.

About the Author: After completion of my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree at D.A.V. College Ambala City, I joined MLM College, Modinagar. During my studies I applied for Short Service Commission in Indian Army. I was selected in the final interview but could not pass the medical test due to my excessive sweating glands. So I decided to leave India, going abroad and settling there. After traveling Middle East, several European countries I reached Germany around August 1968. Studied at Control Data Institute 1970-1971 and completed Diploma in Computer Programming. Joined US Army Head Quarters in Frankfurt as a Local National employee and retired in 2016 as Computer Programmer/Analyst.
