This collection of poems was written by a young Black man in 1974 while serving his country (US Air Force) while stationed at Incirlik Air Base in Adana, Turkey. These poems reflect his thoughts growing up through the '50s, '60s, and '70s in the civil rights era of America. Coming from a predominantly White small town in Western Maryland, he has his views on being a Black man and also being a dedicated airman while being true to his beliefs. Hopefully, reading these poems will open your mind to explore your own true feelings about the life you lead.
