Deanna loves horses and always has. For years she has done odd jobs and mowed yards to earn money for her dream horse. At the Iowa State Fair she and her friend walked through the horse barns looking for just the right kind of horse for Deanna to search for. A beautiful Peruvian Paso took her breath away and Deanna was determined to nd one for herself.

After rejoining the family, the group went to some rides. Miles, Deanna's little brother, wanted to go down the infamous giant slide. At the bottom of the fast ride, Deanna got tangled up in the gear, hurt her knee, and ended up at the hospital hearing bad news: no horse in her future.
