I Am Orange

I Am Orange is a middle school-aged children's book and a story told by a young boy named Johnny Apple who dreams of being a writer. He is an orange apple, which is unheard of in Red-Town, a town full of red apples. When he moves away from his hometown, Orange Valley, he discovers an important lesson while living in Red-Town. He and his best friend Alex Greene return home to find their place in society and Johnny struggles with many changes in his life. While traveling, he prepares to write a paper for homework about equality and acceptance of differences in people.
