Principles of Digital Information Technology is designed to help prepare students for a future career in information technology (IT). This text explores the basics of information technology, progresses to computer applications commonly used in the workplace, and concludes with a discussion of the interconnectivity of technology in daily life. This text affords an opportunity to build knowledge and skills in the IT world and prepare students for college and career. The text is aligned to the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) standards for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access. This enables students to obtain Associate-level certification in each program. MOS certification objectives appear at the beginning of each chapter in which they are covered as well as in the margin at the point of coverage. Hands-On Examples appear at the point of coverage to provide immediate reinforcement. These activities enable students to apply what they have learned before progressing to the next concept. Digital resources needed for some of the activities are available for download through the digital companion. A URL is provided in activities where resources are needed. Features such as STEM, Green Tech, Career Skills, and Ethics are presented throughout the text to expose students to real-world information to help them become better employees and individuals.
