Today Is Tomorrow

There are many loud things in today's world. A loudness that detracts. Loud unnecessary things that soil the human experience. These excesses serve to obstruct our view of the meaningful moments of life. The unceasing deafening clamor infringes on the important aspects of our humaneness.

Poetry offers a resilience for the human experience. Poetry expresses words that evoke imagery. Poetry invites consideration and contemplation. Poetry allows us to open our eyes to the beauty of a sunset or the simple sight of sparrows mating. Poetry puts us in the presence of a magical sky at midnight and to feel the pleasure of fuzzy socks in the morning. Poetry allows us to hear from talking teddy bears and golden ghosts. There are puppies and singing trees, old dogs and autumn leaves.

Trade the loudness. Beneath the cover of a book, within the pages and among the words is an opportunity to delineate an acquaintance with a world so much other than the loudness.
