With his long marriage finished and his career ended by corporate downsizing, he pulls up roots and sets out, driving west in his truck camper to visit his cousin in Montana, with no plans beyond that. But, when he drops into a diner for supper, everything changes. Violence, romance and mob interests merge on the Midwest highways when Bob's life is suddenly and irrevocably changed as he is pursued by thugs in fast cars. Helped by long haul truckers, Bob avoids one calamity only to find violence and danger when he arrives at Timberline Ranch. Yet, a new purpose and value for life gives Bob the strength to fight for those he comes to care for.
