The Samaveda is an ancient collection of Vedic Sanskrit hymns, which date back to late 2nd millennium BCE. It is the oldest existing Veda and consists of 1,549 verses. The Samaveda follows a metre that is different from other Vedas; it has 32 melodious chants that were composed over two thousand years ago by Lalita Vistara. These melodic chants are believed to have been used as part of ritual sacrifices in Hindu temples and homes. The contents of the Samveda consist of a variety of topics such as philosophy, knowledge, Dharma, devotion to gods and goddesses, Yajna (ritual fire sacrifice), worship rituals for arati or puja (worship) for various gods and goddesses, descriptions about 'Upanishads' (mystic secrets), social conduct, various medicinal plants etc. It is generally seen as a sourcebook for Indian philosophy, cultural values and ideas about our cosmos.

This book offers a clear and concise understanding of the Samaveda, its verses, and the wisdom they impart. It is an invaluable resource for anyone looking to gain insight into this ancient text and its teachings. By delving into the Samveda, readers can gain a deeper appreciation of the spiritual and philosophical foundations of Hinduism and its enduring relevance to modern life.
