A geology graduate student, wandering in a remote forest in mountainous northern New England doing field work, comes upon an old house on a long-abandoned farm. Out from the house steps a strange and beautiful young woman, who is in reality an ancient witch displaced from her time and place in a medieval world under the sea. Before he knows it, the student is ensnared in a wild scenario he barely understands, of demons, monsters from the other world, domestic gangsters and a mad scientist, all led by a mysterious criminal billionaire who plots to enslave the earth. The witch, with his assistance, gathers an unlikely crew of misfits (plus a monster) as allies in a struggle to save humanity.
