Alexandria McCord is a Houston inner city high school history teacher by day, and a justice serving vigilante by night, while on a mission to find the gang who murdered her parents.
She's also a champion of the underprivileged students, using her own system of justice outside the permissible boundaries of the law. While eluding the persistence of a detective, she learns the truth about the man she thought was her father and learns of her real father.
All the while, she's running from a broken heart due to losing the love of her life, Mike Koehl, in a car wreck their senior year at Victoria High School.
One night while driving to Victoria, she picks up a seemingly wandering toddler on the side of the road dressed only in underwear and a cowboy hat. That experience sends her into another dimension where she's united with Mike again, and they relive their senior year in at Victoria High School on weekends.
In the middle, Farley Fontenot, also a teacher, hopelessly falls in love with her. After numerous shootouts with bad guys, she finally confronts the gang leader who murdered her parents. Farley comes to the her rescue, only to watch her drive off into the sunset for one last trip to Victoria where she has the decision of her life to make.
Alexandria's constant mentor is Richard, her renowned writer/philosopher and mechanic/car builder.
