Created one of the first settlements in west central Minnesota, called Rush Lake. He soon ran into roadblocks with the Bishop in Minnesota, so he ran his own little colony. Lots of problems. He soon died and his followers snuck his body onto a train and they headed for Oregon, to set up a new colony. Still much controversy. Father Albrecht was buried outside the fence of the local Catholic cemetery.
