The Romance of Spirit is a composition of poems that span a period of twenty-six years in the making, 1996-2022. Originally planned to become an epic poem of 1,200 pages, the author's life experience gradually reduced the work into a more manageable size fit for a libretto. Inspired by Wagnerian opera, The Romance of Spirit captures the essence of an epic poem, an epic journey, of a single night's dream sequence, to reveal that true epic poetry lies within a single individual, and that all individuals, together, make the music.
