This is Don's third book of adventure tales. But unlike his first two books, The Idling Bulldozer and The Seventy-Thousand Dollar Outhouse, which focused exclusively on kayaking, the tales in this volume go beyond kayaking to include adventures on the land and in the air, finally ending with a tragic story that gives the book its name.
