The book makes use of mathematics to characterize plane and three-dimensional star figures beginning with the familiar 5-point star and continuing through N-point star figures. Included in the analyses are the development of conditions under which a three-dimensional star can be constructed by folding alternately concave and convex about lines in specially designed star figures drawn in the plane. A very intriguing aspect of the overall geometric figures is that the "golden ratio" or "golden section" appears at certain points in the relationships. Many other geometric aspects are explored that lead to unexpected and interesting results. Principles of physics are used in analyzing the passage of light through solid star bodies composed of materials such as glass, diamond, etc. Many amazing features are revealed concerning the calculated light paths traversing the solid starshaped bodies.
