First published in the 1980s, they are reprinted here in their entirety, with an introduction by the artist's grandson, Christian Martin. The books that are included are Island Winter, Summer Business, For Rent, Island Rescue, and Sam Saves the Day. Each tells a story of the challenges and rewards of small children living in a small community on a remote island.
