Prince Carrick has deceived and betrayed his people to become Emperor of Seracedar Kingdom. Meanwhile, after escaping Cedar Palace, Rilla and her boyfriend Aiden have returned to Emberwood Kingdom, where they find sanctuary under the rule of Aiden's parents, King and Queen of the Embers. Heartbroken to learn their former friend Carrick has sworn to destroy them, they must find a way to defeat him.
