The Price of Broken Magic

Long ago, the three magics of the world came together to bring balance to the universe. Europe brought a staff carved from the Tree of Life. Asia brought a jade orb, imbued with magical power. Africa brought a gold bowl, decorated to look like the wings of magical birds, one wing to represent each magic: a crane for Asia, a hawk for Africa, and a raven for Europe. This brought balance to the magics and all was well for a long time. Until it was broken...

Wren Byrne is a good Arsa soldier: she follows orders and doesn't ask too many questions. She fights diligently to help her clan fix the magical imbalance of the world.

Lily Zuo is a dedicated zheng warrior who is trying to balance her family and magical life. She works hard to ensure the best life for all as the world of magic deteriorates around her.

During an interrogation, Zuo feeds her a fairytale that makes too much sense to ignore. Torn between truth and loyalty, the pair will escape from the Arsa base and embark on an epic journey across the world, searching for the pieces of an ancient magical artifact.
