In 1931, the world was introduced to one of cinema's greatest monsters... The Frankenstein Monster. Universal's original Frankenstein film, starring Boris Karloff as The Creature, was a smash hit, cementing the image of The Monster forever.

In 1969, following a final interview, Boris Karloff dies in a London hospital at age 81 of pneumonia. A few days later, the Los Angeles newspaper reporter who conducted that interview over the phone also dies, except the reporter's death was... murder.

In 2011, eighty years after the premiere of the classic film, a man runs from a roiling forest fire. A man who, impossible as it may seem, looks exactly like Karloff's Frankenstein Monster..
